Celebration FL
The planning for Celebration began in 1987 when The Walt Disney Company decided to develop a master planned community on a portion of the vast acreage it owned near Orlando. The community was built on 4,900 acres and is surrounded by an additional 4,700 acres of permanently protected green space.
The planners of Celebration were presented with the challenge of designing an entire community from the ground up. Some of the best architects in the world were engaged to create this vision. The planning process took four years and involved the well-known firms of Robert A.M. Stern Architects and Cooper, Robertson & Partners. The community is based on five cornerstones: education, health, technology, social place, and community.
The pleasant lifestyle of Celebration is enhanced by its open expanses in the form of parks and lakes as well as a public golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The Town Center at Celebration provides tourists and residents alike with unique shopping and dining destinations of the highest standard. A four-star hotel with 115 rooms caters to both business guests and tourists. The features of the hotel include lake views and in room high-speed Internet access. Visitors are attracted to the quaint nature of the community.
